Fitzroy Manu Comp - 2026

Manu 2026 delivered an epic day in the sun - packed with laughter, raw talent and an alcohol-free, whānau-friendly atmosphere.

The kai was flowing thanks to the amazing support of Orama, AFSG KTP Taiohi, and the Kutia Shack.

There are many people to thank for making this event such a success. Our local board, Aotea Family Support Group, and Mana Whenua were key supporters and also made up our Manu 2026 judging panel.

A huge thank you as well to our local businesses and the NBRR Association, who continue to support this important fundraising event for our local tamariki and taiohi.

New Years Picnic - 2nd January 2026

The New Years Picnic (NYP) is an iconic island event that years ago became AFSG's annual fundraiser. It is a family-friendly day with stalls, entertainment, and children’s activities. The event is hugely important for our local makers, growers and artisans; it is their single biggest revenue earner over the year. This money is injected directly back into local households and the local economy. It is a calendar highlight for those visiting Aotea, showcasing the very best of our island. It brings the community together in a way that promotes wellbeing. It promotes food resilience through the sale of local produce, and all proceeds go to AFSG, which in turn works year-round supporting our community.

An alcohol free event for all to enjoy.
